Tickets on sale now for 2021 Celebrating Women’s Voices event

Our 2021 Celebrating Women’s Voices event will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, 2-4pm, via Zoom. All are welcome!

Lucy Beard

Our honoree, Lucy Beard, has been part of the Alice Paul Institute since 1994, first participating as a volunteer. Next she served on the Board of Directors and became a member of API’s first professional staff.  Lucy then served as Program Director at Paulsdale, Alice Paul’s home in Mount Laurel which is a National Historic Landmark. She also developed the Alice Paul Girls Leadership Program which relies on successful women leaders, past and present, to serve as role models for K-12 students in South Jersey, as they develop their own career goals. Finally, as Executive Director, Lucy led efforts to raise awareness of Alice Paul’s life and work and to advocate for passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (http://www.alicepaul.org).

We will also be joined by Donna Gottardi, owner of My Fair Trade Lady. Her Haddon Heights shop carries a dazzling array of handmade gifts from around the world. Eighty percent of fair-trade items worldwide are created by women so your purchases will support and honor those hard-working artisans. Donna has generously agreed to rebate a percent of purchases made on a designated day in late April to the JGB Fund for the Future.
