The recipient of the 2025 Celebrating Women’s Voices award was Ashton Lattimore, author of All We Were Promised, which tells the story of three Black women in pre-Civil War Philadelphia as seen through the eyes of free and slave women. Ms. Lattimore is an award-winning journalist, and current Board member at Prism, a nonprofit news outlet whose work centers on communities of color.
