The Judith Glick Buckman Fund for the Future is delighted to announce we are hosting an in-person event on Saturday, April 27, at Ashley Crossings in Delran.
Our guest will be Signe Wilkinson, the first woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning.
Signe Wilkinson has been the editorial cartoonist for the Philadelphia Daily News and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Her work is described as having a “unique style and famous irreverence”.
Signe has also created cartoons for Working Woman, Ms. Magazine, Organic Gardening and the Friends Journal. She has been honored with a Visionary Woman Award from Moore College of Art & Design, four Overseas Press Club Awards and two Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards for Cartooning.
In 2007, Signe launched a syndicated daily comic strip entitled Family Tree which focused on environmental issues. For Organic Gardening magazine, she created a comic strip entitled Shrubbery that centered on botanical and political topics.
